February 5, 2019 — New York, NY

Gilded, a New Orleans-based blockchain startup providing software to simplify the cryptocurrency accounting process, will participate in the inaugural Techstars Alchemist Blockchain Accelerator.

Gilded’s crypto bookkeeping and invoicing tools are used by ICOs, blockchain companies, and other businesses to ease back-office operations.

The accelerator is a 13 week program designed to connect promising blockchain startups with the guidance, resources, and introductions to succeed in developing products based on the revolutionary technology known as blockchain.

Techstars, the worldwide network of startup investors, mentors, and alumni, has partnered with Alchemist, a global blockchain advisory group, to bring the mentorship-driven accelerator program to New York City.

“You can invest in blockchain, you can create blockchain technologies, or you can use blockchain technologies—but the option to ignore blockchain technologies no longer exists.” says Steven Nerayoff, CEO & Founder at Alchemist.

“We’re thrilled to be working alongside an incredible group of innovative blockchain companies participating in the accelerator. The mentoring provided by the Techstars and Alchemist networks is priceless. With their support we are one step closer to our mission of enabling businesses to use cryptocurrency safely, effectively, and compliantly.” says Gil Hildebrand, CEO of Gilded.

The program begins February 4th, 2019 and ends on May 1, 2019 with an invitation-only demo day, where the ten companies from the program will present their products to an audience of more than 150 investors, journalists, and global blockchain leaders.

The Techstars Blockchain Accelerator will help founders gain access to expertise in the nascent—yet rapidly growing—cryptocurrency and blockchain industry, helping them do more faster. Selected companies will not only benefit from resources across Techstars’ and Alchemists’ ecosystems, but will also have the opportunity to work closely with leading market players in the blockchain industry.

The move to launch a dedicated blockchain accelerator in New York City acknowledges the specific challenges that blockchain founders face when trying to build and scale their blockchain businesses. These challenges include: complex regulatory environments, rapidly changing technology landscapes, token design, community building, and difficulties attracting talent. The Alchemist Blockchain Accelerator aims to help founders address these challenges by creating a program that gives them access to Techstars’ and Alchemist’s worldwide mentors.
